Lesson Policy

TIMES & PRICES

Lessons are charged at $80 per hour.

The length of the lesson depends on the student’s level and is usually as follows:

Beginners: 30 minutes
AMEB Preliminary to Grade 3: 45 minutes
AMEB Grade 4 and above: One hour

Lessons are conducted year round with a four week break over the Christmas period.

PAYMENT

Invoices will be issued 1 week before payment is due.  Payment is to be received at the final lesson of each month for the following month in advance and may be made in cash or by electronic transfer.

CANCELLATIONS

In cases where the student is unable to attend a lesson, reasonable notice must be given and the missed lesson will be rescheduled.  If the student is unable to, or does not wish to reschedule the lesson, payment will not be refunded or carried over into the following month.  If notice is not received within an hour prior to the lesson, the lesson will be forfeited and payment will not be refunded or carried over into the following month.

If for any reason I must cancel a lesson, an effort will be made to provide as much notice as possible.  An attempt will be made to reschedule all lessons cancelled by myself, however if this is not possible the lesson will not be charged for and payment will be carried over into the following month.

Once a lesson has been rescheduled it will not be rescheduled again.  If the student is unable to attend a rescheduled lesson then that lesson will be forfeited and payment will not be refunded or carried over into the following month.

If the student wishes to take time away from lessons (for work, holidays, exams etc) notification must be given prior to the date the invoice is issued for the month in which the student will be absent.  If notification is not given the month will be charged for as usual and the student will have the option to forfeit the lessons, or to use the lessons at a later date in addition to regularly scheduled lessons.

TERMINATION OF LESSONS

If a student wishes to terminate lessons, notification must be given a minimum of two weeks in advance of the final lesson.  Once payment has been issued no money will be refunded.  Therefore, if a student wishes to terminate before the end of the month, the remaining lessons will be forfeited.

All students, parents and/or guardians are kindly asked to remember that teaching the piano is my job, not a hobby.  Therefore, these terms and conditions must be respected and adhered to at all times.

  1. Hi Amy.

We need a piano teacher for our 11 year old son Wyatt.

He had played for about 4 years in Melbourne but lock downs made quite an impact on his progress. We’re looking for 3 weekly 30 minute lessons with the view of commencing AMEB testing in 2024.

Could you contact me on 0422297681 to have a chat.
